Axetris has an immediate opening for a Business Development Manager to manage Micro-Optical component sales in North America. Based in the South Bay, chosen candidate will manage existing business at key accounts and aggressively grow account base.

Axetris, located in Kaegiswil, Switzerland, has been supplying micro-optical elements components to telecom and industrial application customers in the US since 2000. Our aspherical and spherical micro lenses and lens arrays are used in high speed components requiring very high coupling efficiency, such as WSS, Coherent - ICRs, ACOs, Modulators, µITLAs and TOSAs & ROSAs for 100G/400G/1T components and modules.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Account & Project Management
  • Drive revenue, profitability and customer satisfaction (high concentration in the San Francisco Bay area with some pockets in U.S. & Canada)
  • Manage technical and commercial issues with consultation and support from Swiss team
  • Understand customer product portfolio and set targets to actively acquire projects & account
  • Manage regular forecast of customer demand
  • Support organization and participation at trade shows & conferences
  • Observe market & Industry trends to assist in shaping products and services offered
  • Observe competition activities and communicate to internal organization
  • Participate in annual budget planning and regularly monitors expenditures

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • Five (5) + years experience in the components, optics and communication businesses industry
  • Technical skills as related to optical components, transceivers and modules, and their use in the customer systems
  • Organization skills necessary to simultaneously manage multiple priorities
  • Professional sales abilities with necessary skills to effectively communicate, document, report, and ability to work in a global environment, in concert with Swiss, Chinese and Japanese teams
  • A thirst for growing business through customer satisfaction and new account development
  • Ability to travel. In addition to regular local customer visits, 50 percent of time will be spent in U.S. pockets with periodic trips to Switzerland
