Martin Zingg studied mechanical engineering at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and completed his master's thesis at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2000. He then entered the leadership development program of French multinational Alstom Group, where he progressed through several positions in R&D, global field commissioning, project engineering and product management for gas turbine based power plants. Mr. Zingg spent the next five years for Alstom in West Palm Beach, Florida, where he initially coordinated the local integration of a newly acquired company. Subsequently he took on the responsibility for setting up international sales with a focus on the Middle East and Asia. Mr. Zingg then transferred within the Alstom Group to Helsinki, Finland, where he was initially responsible for rebuilding the sales and marketing division, and later took the lead of the entire Finnish Business. Back at the Swiss headquarters, he was put in charge of a large business unit in 2014, which he integrated into the new structures of General Electric (GE), following their acquisition of the Alstom Power business. From 2017 to 2019, Mr. Zingg was tasked with regaining profitability of the service division of a leading wind turbine gearbox manufacturer, before joining the Executive Board of the Leister Group as its CCO on November 1, 2019.
