Great news for all swimming pool builders. The UNIDRIVE 505 from Leister makes butt welding of membranes in swimming pool construction easier than ever before. How does that work? Find out how in this article.

Classic overlap welding was previously a common method for welding pool membranes. This creates overlapping seams that can be felt when walking on the pool floor. While less important on a flat roof, it is not ideal in a swimming pool. It also means special attention is required with cleaning with pool robots. Visible seams can also affect the appearance, particularly with specially designed pool membranes. This opens up opportunities to improve quality, cleaning and aesthetics.

The solution: UNIDRIVE 505

How does the UNIDRIVE 505 set new standards in the welding of pool membranes? By butt welding onto an underlying seam tape. And it's easier, faster and less visible than ever before. What used to be possible, but only with a hand-held device such as the TRIAC AT from Leister, now works with the UNIDRIVE 505 semi-automatic welder in a much shorter period of time and with a homogeneous, visually perfect welding pattern. What are the time savings? The left and right membranes and the seam tape are welded together in just one work step. The entire process is carried out with impressive precision and consistency. The result: an almost invisible weld seam. This is particularly important for fabric-reinforced, digitally printed, textured and embossed membranes.

Convenient operation

The UNIDRIVE 505 provides the operator with a clear view of the welding area so that the joint line remains clearly visible throughout the process. This enables precise device guidance and makes it easier to control the welding process. The ergonomically shaped handles make it easy to operate the welder. Speed and temperature can be easily set via the clear display.

More stability when welding

The 3-point support of the UNIDRIVE 505 ensures easy handling and safe welding of the pool membranes. In combination with the two hard plastic support rollers, the silicone pressure roller ensures perfect balance of the welder.
