The Leister Foundation is committed to upholding its objectives by supporting art, culture, education and science.

With our activities in education and science, we give priority to promoting the technical interest and training of young people in Switzerland. We are very proud of the fact that we are based in central Switzerland. That's why we support regional, cultural events and projects in particular.

Education and Science

The Leister Foundation cooperates with various organizations and institutions such as the "ETH Zurich Foundation" to support research and teaching at ETH Zurich, with the "EPFL - École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne" within the framework of a student support program, with the "Swiss Science Center Technorama" in Winterthur, with the "Schweizer Jugend forscht" foundation, with the "NaTechEducation" association and many others.

As the initiator of the "tüftelPark Pilatus" in the canton of Obwalden, the Leister Foundation established a tin workshop in 2016 to promote young people in technical professions. We are motivating more and more students to deal with technical topics, thanks to our contributions and the Leister Tüftel Prize. In addition, the Leister Foundation supports expeditions to regions that are geographically and logistically difficult to access in effort to enable scientists to conduct their research here.

Arts and Culture

Customs and tradition, folklore and classical music, including the annual folk culture festival "OBWALD" and the chamber music festival "Erstklassik" at the border of lake Sarnen. We also contribute to the cultural heritage preservation and support corresponding book projects.
